Family Planning for Male Couples
First Steps
After your initial consultation with Dr. DiPaola, both parents will need a Semen Analysis performed in office by our laboratory staff. Patients should anticipate repeating this analysis at least twice to ensure accurate and consistent results. Next, both intended parents will need to participate in SEMA4 Expanded Carrier Screening with either a Saliva or blood sample. This genetic testing will provide us with the crucial information required to find a compatible egg donor.
Financial Clearance
Before you and your partner are able to dive into the process of donor egg matching, you will need to be financially cleared by our billing department. Financial clearance includes counseling with our billing department about the cost of donor eggs, IVF coverage and benefits, PGT testing costs, and financial expectations with a future gestational carrier.
Donor Egg Matching:
Directed/Known Donor
While many couples wish to utilize a directed/known egg donor, the process to move forward with this option is truly much more complex than some intended parents may expect. This donor option will require the following:
The intended donor must undergo an extensive, strict screening process enforced by the FDA and NYS guidelines for viable egg donors.
The intended donor must be deemed eligible throughout all phases of this screening process
The intended donor must pass a medical screening
and
The intended parents are expected to provide financial means for all the directs donor’s screening, medical fees, and legal fees
YFF In House Donors: Your Family Fertility, PLLC has a small, but growing, inventory of in house donors. We are able to provide interested patients with donor profiles one at a time during the donor egg matching program.
Fairfax Egg Bank: The major egg bank that we work with is Fairfax Egg Bank. Intended parents are able to browse through donor profiles online and email Fairfax when they have found a donor they are interested in.
